Project Background:
Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-based New Materials Co., Ltd. is constructing the world’s largest single-site olefin plant, replacing petroleum with coal and fossil fuels with new energy. The project plans to produce 13.25 million tons of methanol, 5 million tons of olefins, 2.5 million tons of polyethylene, and 2.5 million tons of polypropylene annually. Upon completion, methanol output will account for over 16% of China’s total production, and olefins will represent more than 9%. This initiative aligns with China’s national "dual-carbon" strategy, driving clean and efficient coal utilization. The project requires stable wastewater treatment and environmental safeguards to ensure 100% reuse of treated water.
