Project Background:‌
Shanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy & Chemical Co., Ltd., established in May 2010 with a registered capital of 13.539 billion CNY, is located in Jingbian County, Yulin City, on the southern edge of the Mu Us Desert. Jingbian is the only county in China rich in coal, oil, natural gas, and salt resources, yet it faces ecological fragility and severe water scarcity. The company operates a large coal-to-olefins project, with annual water consumption exceeding tens of millions of cubic meters—equivalent to roughly 1/10 of Jingbian County’s total residential water usage. Water conservation is therefore of critical significance.

‌Project Outcomes:‌
The company has successfully implemented an industrial wastewater "zero liquid discharge" (ZLD) system, achieving near-complete wastewater reuse (over 98%) and resource recovery of salts. This system reduces freshwater intake by over 20 million m³ annually, maximizing comprehensive wastewater utilization.

• ‌Ultrafiltration System Total Capacity:‌ 2,192 tons/hour (nine operational units, one standby).

• ‌Reclaimed Water Facility Design Capacity:‌ 2,200 m³/h.
  The reclaimed water facility, commissioned in March 2014, includes an ultrafiltration system with 10 units (243 m³/h per unit, 9 operational + 1 standby).

‌Influent Sources:‌
Wastewater treatment plant effluent, desalination brine, circulating water blowdown, and boiler blowdown.
